Why have a single place to work from?

Having multiple places where people are communicating and working adds a tremendous overhead to your team's performance. It's hard to figure out what the most important thing to work on is, how your effort is adding up to the team's progress and where we are at. Then you end up in tons of meetings and buying, even more, tools to keep track of.

Having your work scattered across multiple places makes it impossible to figure out why a certain decision was taken and feel that the work you do gets noticed.
